Meet the Utah Focus Fund team

Bob Aamodt

Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager

Bob Aamodt, CFP®, MBA is a Co-Founder and portfolio manager for the Utah Focus Fund.

Upon graduation from the University of Utah with his MBA in 1995, Bob started teaching as an adjunct for the Finance Department at the
David Eccles’ School of Business at the University of Utah. There he taught finance classes in modern portfolio theory, investments and financial planning.

He has been managing portfolios for clients since 1998 with a philosophy deeply rooted in modern portfolio theory and the efficient market hypothesis driving investment decisions. Bob is also the founder of Rock House Financial, an SEC registered investment advisor. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with over 25 years’ experience as a professional investor and financial advisor, he is well known for his deep expertise, integrity, and client accountability.

In 2007, he moved his firm to a renovated historic Farmington building and has added additional advisors over the years as the consultancy has grown.Before his career in finance, Bob led a privately-held software company and built and sold his first business.

Bob received both his BA in Business and his MBA from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. In addition to his passion for his clients, Bob has an equal commitment to his family and civic duties. He enjoys volunteering his time for the good of the community, and recently ran a 50-mile ultra marathon to celebrate turning 50 years old. Bob also has a beautiful singing voice and has been a member of Utah Chamber Artists and Utah Symphony Chorus. He and his wife, Julie, are the parents of five children.

Christopher Watkins - Utah

Christopher M. Watkins

Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager

Christopher Watkins has 29 years of experience in the investment industry. He began his career as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated and transitioned to Dain Rauscher Incorporated as Vice President/Financial Consultant. In 1998 Mr. Watkins joined his father at WMW Management Inc., a Registered Investment Advisory Firm with the State of Utah, assuming all portfolio and management responsibilities.

In 2000, Mr. Watkins formed and is the Owner/General Securities Principal of Watkins Financial Services Inc., a FINRA Registered Broker-Dealer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree focusing on Finance from the University of Utah and is currently based in Farmington, Utah.
